Lisa’s Bologna to Rome Cycle Challenge
In a chance meeting at an event in 2018, and no doubt after a couple of drinks, I agreed to take part and signed up for the Bologna to Rome cycle challenge.
I have done a few challenges over the years including a 50 mile MTB race in France, a half marathon and a novice triathlon. However, all those pale into insignificance when faced with a 500km cycle through Italy. A road bike is out of my comfort zone and I feel the real challenge will be the repeated distance over five days, not just a few hours.
I shall get a kick from this personal challenge at the same time as raising money for a worthy cause. There aren’t too many people who at some stage have not been touched by the effects of cancer. It hits us in so many ways, so I would really appreciate it if you could sponsor me to help raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Jersey so they can continue to offer emotional and practical support all those who are affected by cancer.
I will complete this challenge and may even enjoy it, but the pain I will no doubt go through with my particular dislike for hills and Lycra will be for the best reasons.
Thank you so much
