Liz runs London 2018!
In March 2017 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer and underwent a single mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I cannot thank the medical team who supported me throughout enough, especially Senga and Kath, the Breast Care Nurses who have been a huge tower of strength throughout. As I spent three weeks in Southampton having Radiotherapy, this gave me plenty of time to decide what challenge I could undertake, so started running again.
My sister sadly was also diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away after a long and courageous fight in March 2015. I don’t know how she would have coped without the support of her Macmillan nurse especially in the last few weeks of her life.
Amazingly I have been offered a place to run in the London Marathon in April 2018 for Macmillan Jersey and ironically it falls on the 22nd April which would have been my sister’s birthday. Please give generously to this fantastic charity for which many people rely on during and after their cancer treatments.
