Wellbeing services

> How we can help > Wellbeing services

If you or a loved one is touched by cancer, it’s important to make time for yourself. We offer a range of complementary therapies and can provide diet and exercise advice.

Complementary therapies

Complementary therapies can play a role in reducing stress as well as helping people feel more positive and in control. They can help you to relax, as well as offering relief from symptoms such as pain, insomnia, nausea and fatigue.  Our free services include aromatherapy/massage, reflexology (hand, foot or facial), Reiki and hypnotherapy, and every patient and carer/family member is offered up to six sessions a year.

Download our complementary therapy brochure.

The complementary therapies helped me get through my medical treatment. I look forward to them so much. It is a great treat and a distraction and I leave feeling more relaxed, less anxious and with a greater sense of wellbeing.

Lifestyle and healthy eating

Everyone can benefit from healthy eating and regular activity. We can help you achieve manageable goals which suit your lifestyle and can put you in touch with the right people to talk to about making the changes.

Our resources include recipe books and cancer-specific nutritional information, exercise DVDs and a weekly yoga class. Many people with cancer look to make changes to how they eat. There is a lot of inaccurate and unhelpful information available, but we can help find an approach which is right for you.

Yoga & relaxation

We offer a weekly yoga class from 4pm to 5 pm every Thursday, which is run in The Oasis.   Please call us to reserve your space.

Also please check our Events/Workshops section as we also run other relaxation group from The Oasis at certain times in the year.

Being active

Regular physical activity can make you feel better in many ways, whether you are used to exercise or not. Physical activity can vary from walking and gardening to fitness classes at the gym. There are many benefits for your physical and emotional wellbeing, and we can help you find what suits you.

We have exercise DVDs, a weekly yoga class and we can refer you to a variety of groups and classes.
