Sun Awareness Seminar

Macmillan Jersey is pleased to invite islanders to attend our free Sun Awareness Seminar at The Royal Yacht Hotel on Friday 15 May from 12.30pm to 2.00pm. This event forms part of our ongoing Sun Awareness Campaign, helping to raise awareness of skin cancer prevention, early detection and the importance of staying safe in the sun.
The afternoon will conclude with a public Q&A session featuring Rachel Shorto - Macmillan Jersey’s service manager, Dr Elizabet Gomes Dos Santos - Jersey’s consultant and service lead in Medical Oncology, Dr Anna Kukula - Dermatology specialist, Dr Maitiu O Tuathail – GP partner at Island Medical Centre and extended role in Dermatology at Jersey General Hospital and Eloise Hamon - Public Health Registrar, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions directly to healthcare professionals.
Our Sun Awareness Campaign continues the important legacy of the Donna Annand Melanoma Charity, whose work helped educate islanders about the risks of skin cancer and the importance of prevention for many years. Through this campaign, Macmillan Jersey continues to support education, outreach and improved access to information around sun protection and skin health across the island.
The event is free to attend and open to all members of the public. Whether you would like to learn more about protecting yourself and your family, understand the signs and symptoms of skin cancer, or ask questions directly to healthcare professionals, we encourage you to join us.
