Who we are
Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey offers free emotional support, practical information and group support to people in Jersey with any type of cancer and at any stage, along with their families and friends. We also have a wellbeing service which includes complementary therapies, activities, group / social support, and diet and exercise advice. All our services are free and confidential. Our services are provided from The Oasis, Macmillan Jersey’s cancer support and wellbeing centre, based at the Lido Medical Centre.
Our charity book café – The Lounge – is based at 26 Burrard Street, St Helier, where you can enjoy a range of tasty treats and browse our selection of wonderful pre-loved books, all kindly donated to us by the generous public. The Lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind, and our Shhh area is designed to be a tech-free zone allowing a moment of serenity during your day. The spaces are available to rent for cooperate sessions, birthdays or a social club/gathering.
All profits raised at The Lounge go towards funding the vital services Macmillan Jersey offer to anyone in our community affected by cancer – in any way.
To support and empower people in Jersey affected by cancer.
The challenge and our aim
Cancer is increasing and by 2020 it is estimated that nearly 1 in 2 of the population will receive a cancer diagnosis at some time during their lives. The increase is mainly because people are living longer. Due to improved treatments, many more people will live beyond cancer, and our service aims to meet the growing demand and changing needs.
We aim to ensure people feel empowered to make the right decisions in terms of their treatment options and to live well with and beyond the diagnosis, knowing their family and friends are supported also.
We are professional and welcoming.
We treat everyone with kindness.
We put the individual at the core of all we do.
